History
Moffat County was created away from a american part of Routt County on February 27, 1911. A county was known as for David H. Moffat, the Colorado king world health organization died within 1911. His railroad, a Denver, Northwestern & Pacific, attempted to build a route from Denver to Salt Lake City. Around 1913, a reorganised railroad, the Denver & Salt Lake, reached as far as Craig, the county seat, but no further.
